This site and the PintheWorld App have no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and do not send your data to us or to any third party. The App is designed to keep your data on your devices.

Terms of Service

The PintheWorld App (the Product) is licensed for use under the terms of Apple's LICENSED APPLICATION END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT for Apps transacted on the Apple Store.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, store or share any personal data. All the information the app works with stays on your device — iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Vision Pro.

Location and maps

The PintheWorld App never asks for your current location and has no access to it. Every place on your globe comes from you: a point you pick on the map, or a place you enter by hand.

To draw those maps, and to turn a point you pick into a place name, the App uses Apple's mapping services. Those lookups are handled by Apple Inc. under Apple's own privacy policy; they are never sent to us, and they are not tied to an account, because the App has none. The places you save stay on your device.

Recordings and photos

The App can record a short video of one full revolution of your globe. The recording captures only the App's own screen and contains no sound — the microphone is never switched on — and the video is created and kept on your device.

When you share that video it goes through the standard share sheet, and what happens to it next is your choice. If you choose Save Video, the system adds it to your photo library; that is the only reason the App asks for permission to add to Photos. That permission is add-only: the App cannot see, read or browse the photos already in your library. Nothing is uploaded to us.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this page will be updated before that version is released.
